Nikea Health Logistics

Your legal presence
in Nigeria.

NAFDAC will not deal with a foreign manufacturer directly. It deals with your Nigerian representative — so who you appoint determines how the whole registration goes.

01 The requirement

A requirement, not a convenience.

Nigerian regulation requires a foreign manufacturer to appoint a local agent or legal representative before a product can be registered. That party files the submission, receives every query, and carries responsibility for the product's regulatory standing in the country.

In practice this makes your representative the single point on which market entry turns. If they are slow to respond to the agency, your product is slow. If their records are disorganised, yours are. And a registration placed with the wrong party is markedly harder to move later than it is to place correctly at the outset.

The practical consequence Appointing a representative is not a late administrative step. It gates everything else, which is why it is worth doing deliberately rather than choosing whoever replies to your first email.

02 What the role covers

What we take on when we hold it.

The representative role

  • Appointment as your local agent for the products we register
  • All correspondence with NAFDAC conducted on your behalf
  • Dossier preparation and submission under the appointment
  • Query handling, and the follow-up that actually moves a file
  • Renewals, variations and lifecycle maintenance
  • Regulatory record-keeping available to you on request

You keep visibility throughout. We work to the position that a representative who cannot show you exactly where your file stands is not representing you — they are holding you hostage to information you should already have.
